CLEAR Buckhaven ~ CLEAR Fife

Community-Led Environmental Action for Regeneration

VACANCY:  Community Food Consultancy - CLOSING DATE 26th November

UPDATE  November 2018

Among the many benefits of running an active outdoor programme around the year is that CLEAR can offer opportunities not only for individual volunteers and groups, schools, etc to be productive and engaged but also individual placements. Of late, we've been delighted to accommodate a fair number of placements - from Princes Trust, Elmwood College, Levenmouth Academy, St Andrews University, the local Jobcentre and others who contribute to improving the community while they gain some insights and experience in the process.

The CLIMB project is due to launch soon.  This provides one-time funds (from the Scottish Govt) to local groups implementing priorities from the Community Action Plans for Methil and Buckhaven respectively and decided through Participatory Budgeting  - look out for details. The Community Fridge is open every Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.  Flower arranging classes, various types also feature in November, the Heritage Circle continues and the community workshop runs every Wednesday and Thursday at Sandwell Street.  Looking ahead towards the festive season, the annual Xmas Brass Band Concert is on 2nd December.  CLEAR 2019 heritage cloth wall calendars (and 2020 ones), the ninth and tenth in the series, are now available for sale at the Hub along with local juices, jams, chutneys, fruit and veg.

Anyone interested in joining in any CLEAR session, indoors or outdoors, from Tuesday to Friday welcome – we offer a hot midday meal and good company.  No skills or experience needed. Donations of tools, wood, paint, bikes and similar always welcome. Drop into 36 College St or phone 01592-713078 or 715021 email clearfife@aol.com or check our facebook or web pages.
